About Me
Hello, my name is Mwayi Kashoko. I am currently a student at the University of Notre Dame studying Computer Science. Ever since I was a child I was fascinated with how computers worked and started learning how to program. Not too long after that, I was certain that this was the field I wanted to work in. My main interests in the field are web development and software engineering.
Experience
May 2025 - August 2025:
Data Analyst Intern at USAA
- Created Python scripts that automates Excel report requirement checking process. Time reduced from a few hours per Excel file to a few seconds. Openpyxl docx tkinter
- Migrated USAA smartQ software (helps testing with JIRA features/links) from Anaconda based environment to Command Line/PowerShell/Git Bash environment. Successfully Debugged software and fixed all errors. Made program compatible with new template types for upcoming quarters. Allowed for multiple files to be parsed and output results into Excel files. Selenium BeautifulSoup openpyxl streamlit tomli
- Worked on deploying smartQ Streamlit app as a website to USAA’s servers and speeding up performance.
- Converted same smartQ Streamlit app in Python to JavaScript: 5x-6x performance boost as a result
